By using the page builder Brizy you can create your website quickly and in a user-friendly way. In my test I will not only show you the most important features, but also the advantages and disadvantages.
About Brizy
Brizy is a WordPress page builder that was developed in 2018 by the team of the well-known theme store ThemeFuse. Since then, the tool has been constantly improved and impresses with a very simple and user-friendly interface.
The free version of Brizy can be downloaded from the WP directory, where the plugin is rather one of the unknown builders with about 80,000 active installations. Actually, unjustly. Because the functions and especially the handling make the Brizy builder a useful and solid tool. Hence the 4.5 star rating of the users.

Templates & Blocks
For quickly creating a page, the Brizy Builder offers a good selection of layouts, pre-designed templates. Currently, there are about 180 of them, with only 10 being free. Thematically, there should be a suitable or inspiring template for everyone. The designs are divided into various categories such as Business, Travel, Portfolio, and many more. Otherwise, the process works exactly like with Elementor templates.
You can also use individual pre-designed building blocks for page sections, called blocks. The offering here is slightly larger, with around 250 options. Additionally, each block is available in a light and dark version. Here, you’ll find templates for the typically needed website elements, such as blocks for call-to-actions, contact, gallery, hero, or services.
Of course, you can easily save your self-created templates and blocks for later use.
Web Stories
With the help of Web Stories, you can quickly create mini-websites or landing pages that tell a visual story. These are optimized for mobile and can be swiped through using a swipe function. Naturally, there are ready-made templates for this as well.
Popup Builder
Thanks to the many templates, you can create an appealing popup quickly and easily. The design can be customized well, even for various mobile devices. It’s also easy to set the display options, i.e., when and where the popup should appear.
Forms
With most page builders, the form function is only available in the paid version. With Brizy, however, it’s already included in the free version. Creating and styling a form is super easy and very intuitive. You can rearrange the fields with a click and customize colors, size, fonts individually. Even arranging the fields side by side is straightforward.
I initially overlooked the mail sending settings, but this, too, is easy to handle. The emails are then saved under > Brizy > Leads and can be exported as a CSV file.
If you only want to offer a simple contact form, you’ll find everything you need here. However, I personally prefer a dedicated form plugin like Fluent Forms.
Slider Section
A really cool feature that I haven’t seen anywhere else is the ability to transform a section (block) into a slider with just one click. You can then customize the individual slides and create more slides by duplicating them.
Membership
Even in the free version of Brizy, you can show or hide individual blocks depending on the user’s role.
With Brizy Pro, this feature is expanded into a membership function. In the dashboard, in the menu under > Users, you can create your user roles, similar to a membership plugin. And in the Brizy Builder, you can specify which user role can see the page or even just individual sections as desired. Depending on your requirements, this can potentially save you from using a membership or LMS plugin like LearnDash.
Theme Builder
Of course, this website builder also offers a theme builder in the Pro version. With it, you can create headers or footers according to your preferences. Archive pages and post pages can also be freely designed and filled with dynamic content.
User Interface
For me personally, the simple, well-thought-out, and intuitive user interface is Brizy’s strongest feature. In comparison to many other website builders, not only is the interface clean and uncluttered, but the user experience focuses on the essentials and avoids unnecessary clicking around. You won’t be overwhelmed by the seemingly endless possibilities, but you’ll work with context-sensitive options. You’ll only see the necessary and suitable settings for the currently selected element.
If you want to customize an element, simply click on it, and the context-sensitive toolbar will appear. Here, you’ll find all settings and options specific to that element.
I also find the text editor to be very impressive. Whether with Elementor or Divi, text editing can be challenging. With Brizy, inline editing works exactly as it should.
The best way to try out live editing is to use the free online demo*.
Performance
I primarily looked at Brizy because the tool is considered very lightweight and speed-oriented. When working in the live editor, this is definitely the case. Unlike Elementor, it loads very quickly, just like the page preview.
So, to compare both page builders, I created an almost identical page using Brizy Free, with the same images and texts as Elementor. The test page is hosted by all-inkl in a small shared hosting plan. I used the simple Twenty Twenty-Three theme.
The only performance measure was the installation of OMGF to replace the fonts with local fonts.
Page Speed Scores
Brizy | Elementor | |
---|---|---|
Page Speed Insights (Mobile) | 87 | 92 |
Page Speed Insights (Desktop) | 97 | 99 |
GTmetrix | 88% | 89% |
Surprisingly, Elementor performs slightly better in both the Google Speed Test and GTmetrix. This surprised me because Elementor has more features and data, so I expected slightly worse scores.
While Brizy is very fast, Elementor is a bit faster.
Brizy vs. Elementor
How does Brizy compare to the dominant player Elementor? As a long-time Elementor fan, I am somewhat biased and automatically compare every page builder with it. However, I must admit that I really like Brizy!
The clean workspace and the quick responsiveness of the editor immediately stood out to me. The context-based approach and text editing are well-implemented. Even better than in Elementor or Divi.
However, I will continue to use Elementor for my own website. This is because it includes more features, especially in terms of the Theme Builder. Creating dynamic archive and blog pages is simply better and more straightforward with Elementor. Another advantage for Elementor is the wider range of templates and extensions.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Brizy
Advantages
- User-friendliness & ease of use
Working with Brizy is very pleasant because the interface is clear and goal-oriented. Inline editing is well-implemented in this builder. - Layouts & Templates
Starter sites, layout templates, and block templates simplify and accelerate page creation. - Highlight Features
Some features like the membership option, slider transformation, or form integration in the free version are missing in other builders.
Disadvantages
- Free Version
Compared to Elementor Free, Brizy Free offers fewer elements. Even in the Pro version, the functionality is slightly smaller than Elementor Builder. - Addons
Unfortunately, there are currently no Brizy addons to extend the base plugin. This is different for other, more well-known page builders. There are plenty of third-party Elementor addons, and there are extensions, templates, and themes for Divi. - Theme Builder
The theme builder in Brizy is not as extensive as in Elementor.
Conclusion:
In my test, I was pleasantly surprised by Brizy’s simple and comfortable user interface! In this aspect, most other page builders are not as well-equipped. Otherwise, my experiences with the tool were very positive: it makes an overall very good and solid impression. While it offers slightly fewer features than Elementor, it compensates with easy operation and excellent user guidance.
