Best Elementor Themes

With the page builder Elementor you can define the design of your website very easily and freely yourself. But you still need a WordPress theme as a base. You can find an overview of the most popular and best Elementor themes in my post.

Tips for choosing your Elementor Theme

In fact, you can use Elementor with almost any WordPress theme. Because Elementor itself is not a theme, but only a page builder plugin.

However, the page builder offers many functions that partly overlap with the functionality of a theme. This is especially true for Elementor Pro. For example, you can use it to design the header or footer of your website, which is normally done by the theme. You can find more differences between the two versions in this comparison of Elementor Pro vs. Free.

When choosing an Elementor theme, you should pay attention to the following points:

  • Does the theme already include its own page builder? If so, check beforehand if there could be any problems with Elementor. For example, Enfold would not be the best choice, as it comes with its own layout builder.
  • Do you want to use Elementor Free? Then you need a theme with header, footer & widget area. So the Hello theme would not be an ideal choice.
  • Does the theme work with other page builders or the Gutenberg editor? This could be important if you want to do without Elementor one day.
  • How fast is the theme? The more features the theme offers, the worse the loading times usually are. And these are of course slowed down a bit by each page builder.

The Best Elementor Themes

As with all WordPress themes, there is no such thing as the best Elementor theme. Because it always depends on the individual purpose.

But there are themes that work especially well with the Page Builder and also have some extras to offer. Like for example:

  • Additional Elementor Widgets
  • Useful addons that are already included in the theme package.
  • Special page settings (e.g. Elementor Canvas)
  • Custom Elementor templates & blocks
  • Prebuilt demos

Depending on which Elementor version you use (Free or Pro), a free theme might be enough. It has less features, but is usually a bit faster.

Another point is of course the cost factor. Besides the free Elementor themes, there are also several premium themes. These are usually available in a subscription model, so an annual payment is due, which is about €40, – to €60, -. This applies especially to the so-called page builder themes like GeneratePress, OceanWP or Astra.

The premium Elementor themes at Themeforest (Envato), on the other hand, are available for a one-time fee (about $39,- to $69,-). A majority of these themes are also compatible with other builders such as WPBakery or BeaverBuilder.

At Envato you can find many premium Elementor themes that require only a one-time payment.

Hello

Helle - Best Elementor Theme

The free Hello theme is developed by Elementor itself, so of course it’s perfectly tailored for Page Builder! And with over 1 million active installations, it is one of the most popular Elementor themes.

However, it has almost nothing to offer in terms of features – and that’s also a big advantage at the same time.
Hello only offers the basic framework. The design and all functions like header or footer are taken over from Elementor. This of course makes it one of the fast WordPress themes, since hardly any CSS or JS data is loaded.

  • Free of charge
  • Fast loading times
  • 100% tailored to Elementor

If you use the free version of Elementor, however, Hello is less suitable. This is because it doesn’t offer a header, footer, or sidebar widgets.

Astra

Astra Theme

Astra is one of the most popular WordPress themes on wordpress.org! It not only offers fast loading times, but is also very flexible to use. It supports Gutenberg as well as popular page builders like BeaverBuilder and of course Elementor.

The free version includes all the important features for building a chic and snappy website:

  • 60 Demos
  • Header & Footer
  • Blog Layouts
  • WooCommerce Support
  • Performance

Astra Pro ($59 per year or $299 as a lifetime) includes even more features, but they may not be worth it for all projects. Here are a few key features:

  • Sticky Header
  • Mega Menu
  • More and advanced design options
  • Advanced WooCommerce Features

OceanWP

Ocean WP Theme

Of all the free WP themes, OceanWP probably has the most features to offer. It does not perform as well as GeneratePress or Astra in terms of page speed, but it is still very fast.
OceanWP Free harmonizes perfectly with Elementor and offers a quick start due to the easy import of Elementor templates.

  • 200+ Demos
  • Mega Menu
  • Stick Anything
  • Unlimited Sidebars
  • Modal Window
  • Many design options
  • Blog options
  • WooCommerce Support

The Pro version starts at $54,- per year (Lifetime for $178,-) and of course provides many more features, such as additional Elementor templates and Elementor addons.

  • Portfolio Features
  • Elementor Widgets
  • Sticky Header
  • Ocean Hooks

Kadence

Kadence Theme for Elementor

Kadence WP already offers a very large range of functions in the free version and is still very fast. The design options are very diverse without being too overwhelming. And of course, the interaction with Elementor works smoothly.

  • Header- und Footer-Builder
  • Sticky Header
  • Starter Templates
  • Blog Layouts

On this website I’m using Kadence Free together with Elementor Pro and I’m very happy with this setup.

Kadence is also available as a premium theme starting at $59 annually, offering enhanced or additional options.

  • Extended Header Builder
  • Menu Options (Mega Menu)
  • Header- & Footer-Scripts
  • Hooks
  • Infinite Scroll
  • WooCommerce Features

GeneratePress

GeneratePress Theme

GeneratePress is a very slim theme with very good loading times and is therefore very well suited as an Elementor theme. The feature set of the free version is not quite as lush as OceanWP or Astra, but for that you have the page builder, best in the Pro version!

For my personal taste, the free version of GeneratePress doesn’t really have much to offer and I would rather go for Kadence for example. But for simple projects that value PageSpeed, it is ideal.

  • Very fast loading times
  • Clean design
  • Very good Elementor compatibility

If you want more advanced features, you can of course use GeneratePress Pro.

  • Sticky navigation
  • Mobile header
  • Advanced hook system
  • Blog layouts
  • Advanced styling
  • Starter Sites

A big advantage of GeneratePress: You can use the license for $59,- (yearly) for up to 500 websites. A lifetime license is also available for $249,-.

Qi

Qi Elementor Themes

Qi is a free Elementor theme from the provider Qode Interactive. Probably nobody knows the name, but it is behind very many well-known WordPress themes like Bridge, Stockholm and many very nice WP Portfolio Themes. It is not only quite fast, but also very visually appealing!

  • 100+ Demos
  • Blog Layouts
  • Shop Layouts
  • Portfolio
  • Header & Footer

If you need even more features, you can also install the free Qi Addons. With these Elementor AddOns you get over 60 widgets. And of course there is also a Pro version of Qi. This version takes many of the existing features a step further and offers additional design effects.

Jupiter X

Jupiter X Theme

In order to run Jupiter X at all, you need the free version of Elementor. The Pro version, on the other hand, is not absolutely necessary, since the theme itself already includes many features, such as the display conditions or popups.

In addition, other important theme functions (header builder, menu, blog) are covered by the Elementor addon Jet Plugins (worth 198,-) from Crocoblock, which is included in the theme for free.

  • Header & Footer Builder
  • Jet Smart Filters
  • Jet Engine
  • Jet MegaMenu
  • Jet Blog
  • Jet Tricks
  • Jet Tabs
  • 230 Elementor Widgets
  • 450 Demos
  • Premium Slider Plugins (Slider Revolution, Master Slide

Despite the many features, Jupiter X is quite fast and is also well suited for WooCommerce stores. Unlike the previous themes, Jupiter X is available for a one-time amount of about $59. Thus, there are no annual subscription payments.

Monstroid2

Monstroid2

The MultiPurpose theme Monstroid2 also fully relies on Elementor as a PageBuilder. As with Jupiter X, the basic version of Elementor is sufficient in many cases. More advanced features are covered by the included plugins such as Jet Plugins.

  • Jet Blog
  • Jet Woo Builder
  • Jet Tabs
  • Jet Tricks
  • Jet Menu
  • SliderRevolution
  • Demos
  • Template Library

Monstroid2 is available from TemplateMonster for about $82 (one-time payment) and is thus priced higher than Envato. However, some Elementor addons from Crocoblock, which would otherwise have to be paid for, are already included here.

Phlox Pro

Phlox Theme

Phlox is a popular multipurpose Elementor theme with lots of features & nifty demos. Like many other Elementor themes, Phlox also includes some otherwise paid addons.

  • 190 Demos
  • 25 Elementor Demos
  • 80 Elementor Templates
  • 160 Elementor Widgets
  • Incl. Premium Plugins (Ultimate Addons, Master Slider,…)

With a price of $39,- it is one of the cheapest Elementor themes.
